books.
A long time ago, I read Robin Hobb's The Farseer Trilogy. It was a terrific trilogy, but it hurt. I became so absorbed in the characters that when they hurt, it really hurt. I'm not sure if I cried, but I remember feeling that loss, and not being entirely too keen to do it again.
So I've been browsing for more books lately, and was intrigued at the idea of reading more Robin Hobb, but I realized that part of what is keeping me back is the idea of having to suffer again. Should I really have to brace myself to read a book because I know that I'll get too wrapped up in it?
