I've come to the poor realization that he never really attempts to initiate a conversation unless I'm acting differently--noticeably mopey or gloomy or, if you will, "sad."

And so...what am I supposed to say when the only person I'm really willing to talk to about the subject is the person who...is the subject, and probably doesn't want to talk about it?
