badminton
Some time in the past week or two, Coach Tom suggested I play singles. Not against him, of course, but he was passing by and asked why I didn't call a singles court. I told him I was scared. He went to go get a drink of water, and when he passed by me again, he said:
Fear fades, but glory is forever.
Just thought I'd share that.
Thanks, Coach.
Anyway, last week (or was it the week before?) was supposedly my last day to play singles as secondary event. So I didn't go to JV challenges today, and later on I wondered, why shouldn't I play? There's no reason why I shouldn't be allowed to have a secondary event, especially when there are people who are booked in all three. So I asked Coach Lo if I was allowed play singles as a second event.
Coach Lo is superrr encouraging.
Basically, I'm not ready for singles, but I don't see the harm in playing it as a secondary event. Coach began listing all the characteristics that made me a crappy singles player. Then he said I would only be in JV if I were to play (obviously!), but I told him I was okay with that, and he added me back to the ladder. How else am I supposed to improve if I never play?
Anyway. I digress. Not completely off the subject of badminton, but, seeing as I have nothing left to say and I am uncertain as to why I wrote any of the above anyway, I will now move on to...uh, challenges today. I played..one game. David and me vs. Jen and Gary.
It was about 9 before we got to play.
I was pretty hacked off.
About that, and then some.
